Public Entity Partners is pleased to offer the 2026 Law Enforcement "Legal and Liability Risk Management Institute" Scholarship to provide financial assistance in attending the conference on May 4 - 6, 2026, in Deadwood, South Dakota. This conference is presented by the Legal and Liability Risk Management Institute (LLRMI).
Objectives:
Over the last two decades, law enforcement agencies and individual law enforcement officers in the United States have been the subject of intense public scrutiny. The litigious condition of American Society has been a key factor in this scrutiny. The very nature of police work lends itself to complaints and lawsuits from those with whom law enforcement officers have contact with. At no time has risk management, with respect to the high-risk tasks in law enforcement, been more critical. Officers must have a working knowledge of developing laws relating to police liability and discipline. Managing risk in today's environment not only protects civil liability, but it may also save officers from the possibility of criminal charges and the loss of their careers. This year's conference will focus on how to manage risk and control civil and criminal liability for officers, as well as controlling civil liability for agencies.
Who Should Attend:
Law Enforcement Personnel, Risk Managers, Safety Directors, Claims Personnel and Policy Makers.
Public Entity Partners will award three (3) scholarships (reimbursing up to $2,000) for qualified individuals to attend the 2026 Law Enforcement "Legal and Liability Risk Management Institute".
