Session Description: If your organization operates a water or wastewater collection system, having a sewer backup prevention and response plan is critical to your risk management efforts.  This session will cover the steps necessary for creating a program that will help your organization effectively serve your utility customers and also protect your entity from liability.  These steps will include documentation of complaints, mapping of your system, work orders for repairs that are made, and education of employees for their responsibilities during a sewer backup or overflow event.  Judy Housley is a casualty loss control consultant with Public Entity Partners and has served communities in east Tennessee for almost 35 years.
