REWARD Program Webinar

Workers’ compensation ensures that injured workers have access to medical care. It also covers wage replacement, depending on the amount of time an injured employee is unable to return to work. Successful workers’ compensation programs are partnerships designed to keep employees safe and free from accidents and injury through risk management. In the event an injury or accident does occur, they also provide treatment so injured employees are able to return to work at or as close to their pre-injury conditions as possible.

Congratulations to Claims Staffers

After 25 years of working with local government employees as part of Public Entity (PE) Partners’ claims department, Michele Williams retired on September 30th. As the workers’ compensation claims supervisor, Michele was responsible for the workload of each of the nine workers’ compensation adjusters, in addition to working directly with claimants and members. PE Partners members who have had the opportunity to work with Michele know that she brings a sense of calm and consistency to everything she does.

BWC Announces Free Employer Training

Although sound risk management practices can reduce the number and severity of work-related injuries, it is not possible to eliminate every accident or injury. When injuries and accidents do occur, a foundational goal of the workers’ compensation system is to provide prompt medical care to injured employees, and provide a pathway to recovery and returning to the workforce.

Critical Notice - Workers' Compensation Claims

When an employee has a work-related injury, the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation requires an Employer’s First Report of Work Injury or Illness (Form C-20) be completed. The Form C-20 initiates a workers’ compensation claim and is a required filing with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, so the filing needs to be accurate and thorough. Please ensure your organization understands all the information that is required by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
