Message from the President - September 2020

Greetings! September’s arrival marks the start of a new season, as well as a new chapter at Public Entity Partners. I was recently named President / CEO by our Board of Directors, and am sincerely honored to begin serving our members in this new role.

For the past 34 years, I have come to work each day confident in the knowledge that the products and services offered by Public Entity Partners are second to none. These include training, consulting, risk control surveys, grants and scholarships, comprehensive insurance options and expert claims administration. One of our primary goals is to support cities, towns and municipal agencies across our state by providing best-practice recommendations that will help keep your employees safe, safeguard public resources and assist you in serving your citizens.

What truly sets our organization apart are the experiences you have in dealing with our team. We have an incredible staff of dedicated employees who work to address your needs and help achieve your risk management goals. We work hard to ensure that we have the right people in the right places, with the skills, expertise and resources they need to support our members. This is a responsibility we take very seriously, and if you have worked with our staff members, you are well acquainted with their dedication.

In this newsletter, you will find numerous resources, including information on the additional protection afforded to local governments through the Tennessee COVID-19 Recovery Act and a recently issued Tennessee Supreme Court opinion concerning the at-will status of public employees. You’ll also see an update on the use of telehealth and telemedicine in workers’ compensation.
