It’s hard to believe there are only four months until PE Partners’ next annual Risk & Insurance Symposium. Be sure to mark your calendars and REGISTER for this year’s event, to be held Aug. 21-23 at the Cool Springs Marriott in Franklin.

Public Entity Partners will bring together subject matter experts in EPLI, law enforcement liability, First Amendment auditors, trending claims that are difficult to defend, FMLA/ADA, the opioid epidemic, natural disasters, property conservation, and data privacy and security, among other compelling topics.

This high-quality learning experience has been meticulously crafted to encourage a deeper understanding of the content most relevant to our membership.

While the full details are still in the works, here is a glimpse of what to expect from this year’s event:

  • Opening keynote speaker, Elizabeth McCormick, holds the remarkable title of the first female Blackhawk pilot in the U.S. Army. She will share her insights on cultivating a culture of safety within your organization.
  • Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis, a resilient teacher who survived the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, will deliver a powerful keynote presentation about choices and navigating through life’s hardships and uncertainties. Her expertise promises to instill courage and determination in our audience.
  • A key highlight of this year’s event is safeguarding property. We have developed a property track, placing strong emphasis on minimizing property claims, and ensuring public safety during major and natural disasters and extreme weather. The track will begin with a presentation by News Channel 2’s Danielle Breezy. She will address the evolving weather patterns in Tennessee and provide insights on ensuring citizen safety before, during and after inclement weather events.
  • PE Partners’ own Sarah Curtis will be mediating our first-ever roundtable discussion centered around natural and major disaster events in Tennessee. Leading the conversation will be the City of Waverly’s Mayor, Buddy Frazier, and Chief of Public Safety — Police & Fire, Grant Gillespie, who have both experienced numerous major disasters including floods, tornados and a train derailment. Members will have the opportunity to network with other municipalities, share ideas and discuss preparedness for weather-related events and other tragedies.
  • PE Partners’ Property Conservation Consultants and UT Municipal Technical Advisory Service's Fire Management Consultant, Donald Pannell, will conclude the property track by presenting ideas on developing emergency action plans that emphasize loss prevention.

From gaining a better understanding of the impact of opioids on organizations to exploring trending claims, each educational session offers a chance to add to your risk management toolkit. These enlightening sessions, combined with valuable networking opportunities and after-hours entertainment, make this year’s Symposium an event you will not want to miss.

We are excited about this year’s lineup of experts and look forward to seeing you at our 9th Annual Symposium.
